CASE REPORT (Storyline):
Its an early morning after a coffee run for the team. We're in the meeting room, going over a wrap up for another case. I'm sitting at the head of the table, speaking with Lex, Tina, Melanie, Josh and Garett. When the phone rings and Lex gets up to get it. I glance up, hearing him speaking to the person on the phone and asking the questions we would ask affiliated with a haunting investigation. He comes back about thirty or so minutes later and sits at the table with a notepad full of notes.
"Sorry to interrupt Skylar. But I think we have another case."
He tells me, when I look up at him, I nod for him to continue.*
"I got a call from a Mrs. Johnson, whom claims her neighbor's house is haunted. She has witnessed many bizarre happenings herself. Such as windows and doors opening and closing on their own. Moans and screams coming from the basement, and shadowy figures in sections of the house that are sealed off. She has also had the feeling of being watched while out in her backyard which adjoins with the property. People do live there. A woman and her little girl, of about four or five, maybe six years."
He tells me and immediately my attention and curiosity are ensnared in what he's saying.
"We should go check this out." I say at once and Lex nods.
"I told her we'd have a team over there as soon as possible."
He replies and I stand from my place.
"Where is this haunting?" I ask, as the rest of the team prepares to leave.
"About thirty minutes out. Still in London."
He says and turns to go to the tech room to get the surveillance equipment ready, and then disappears as the rest of us head out to the car. It doesn't take long before we are all loaded and headed for the next investigation. The van pulls up at the curb and we walk together up to the front door and ring the door bell.
A woman opens the door, and in the background I can hear a child squealing while playing with one of her toys.
"Hello." The cheerfullness in the woman's voice sounds fake. That's the first thing I notice upon meeting her. Suddenly the noise stops and the little girl comes to the door, peeking out at me and the team from behind her mother's leg.
"Hello, my name is Skylar Winchester and this is my partner. Alexei Volkov, we're with the London Paranormal Society, can we come in?"
I keep my tone devoid of emotion and professional. Lex shifts his weight beside me, and Melanie turns her head to glance at something off to her left.
"Yes, of course."
